Network Cabling Technician.

Location: Dili, Timor-Leste

Core Responsibilities:

  • Install and terminate data and voice cables (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic) according to industry standards and specifications.
  • Configure and test network connections to verify functionality and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair network cabling issues, identifying and resolving cable faults.
  • Document cabling installations and maintain accurate records of network layouts.
  • Assist with the installation and configuration of network equipment such as routers, switches, and access points.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and best practices while working with electrical equipment and tools.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the IT team lead.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Network Cabling Technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of network cabling standards and best practices, including TIA/EIA-568.
  • Proficient in using cable testing tools and equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good physical fitness and ability to work in various environments, including at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing work demands.
